The history of 2MV
My first experiences with composites started as a hobby. During four years of high school, I built a composite sailing boat together with my father. In 1992, we both started professionally—both named Martinus Verwoerd—and that was the beginning of the family business 2MV Composites.
Over the years, we have grown into a solid team in which everyone plays an important role in realizing our products. As a company, we have evolved from simply supplying composite parts to offering complete solutions, taking the entire burden off the customer’s shoulders.
As an industrial product designer, it gives me great satisfaction to work with clients and colleagues to design and manufacture products where every detail matters. The greatest compliment comes from returning customers and recommendations from captains and their crews.
I am proud of the team and the products we create, and in the coming years I will be handing over the company to my son Dave. We will continue to be a family business with a long-term vision.
