The history of 2MV
My first experiences with composites were hobby-based. For four years, during my time in high school (VWO), I built a composite sailboat with my father. In 1992, we started professionally, both under the name Martinus Verwoerd, and that’s how the family business 2MV Composites was born. Over the years, we’ve grown into a solid team, with everyone within the company playing a crucial role in realizing our products. We’ve evolved from supplying composite parts to offering complete solutions, fully relieving our customers of any concerns.
As an industrial product designer, I find great satisfaction in designing and manufacturing products together with customers and colleagues, where every detail matters. The greatest compliment is the trust from returning clients and recommendations from captains and crews.
I am proud of our team and the products we create. In the coming years, I will be handing over the business to my son Dave. We remain a family business with a long-term vision.
